WE DROVE THE BRESLAU RALLY

After 1 year of sitting at home due to the Corona pandemic, We managed to make our boy dream come true. We can officially call ourself a rally team and Luke can call himself a rally driver and finisher of the Breslau Rally.

Luke looks back on this as the hardest thing he has ever done in his life. While the rest of the team was bbq-ing and having actual fun.

We couldn’t be any prouder of the 32nd place in the enduro standings on this 33 year old Aprilia. This would not have been possible without our sponsors and the team support.

THE MOTORCYLCE

As Giovan Battista Grassotti did in the Paris Dakar Rallye with the same model motorcycle in 1988, we plan on racing this old timer Aprilia Tuareg Rally 125cc two-stroke in the Dakar of Europe a.k.a the Breslau Rally.

As said before, the motorcycle has a whopping 30 horses driving it. The liquid cooled Rotax 122 125cc two-stroke engine with 11.000 RPM (rounds per minute) can reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h. (This is ofcourse dependant on the circumstances, like going downhill or a favourable wind.)

Aprilia build only 700 of these motorcycles, so this motorcycle is a little bit of a so-called “unicorn”.

THE TEAM

The team consists of friends and family. We have two mechanics (Erik and Rick), one multimedia/all-round slave (Daan) and one driver (Luke).

We all love old timers and watching rally racing, so naturally we wanted to drive our own rally someday. Luckily Luke (the driver) was “brave” enough to break the ice and sign himself up for the Breslau Rally. When the friend group heard about it, they all wanted to join and support him (while drinking beer).

Rick and Erik (the two mechanics) will support Luke with the technical side of the rally, while Daan (multimedia/all-round slave) supports him with taking pictures and the peripheral matters.

*please note that we are a team that wants to have the most fun possible while doing a rally. so please don’t take the texts written above too serious. We are by no means a professional team.
